If we solely consider the aspect of “appetite,” it’s quite insignificant to me. However, if it’s connected to a loved one, suddenly it gains another layer of meaning. In reality, a so-called happy life is best not dependent on appetite, and even not dependent on loved ones, because they will eventually fade away. But not being dependent doesn’t mean cutting off ties; what I mean is not overly relying on external factors. The most important thing for a person is to have a clear and tranquil inner self, and to cease expectations and pursuits of the external world. That’s the right attitude towards living.
