A research team at HKU has developed an “elephant trunk” drone (AET) with a continuous robotic arm capable of bending into tight spaces and performing complex aerial manipulations. Weighing just 1.8 kg, it can navigate narrow pipes and conduct tasks like bridge repairs or clearing power lines—marking a leap in low-altitude tech from Hong Kong.
